• Plaza de Mayo (May Square): is the civic and historic center of Buenos Aires. Surrounded by the Government House, also known as Casa Rosada (Pink House), the Metropolitan Cathedral of the city of Buenos Aires and the antique spanish Cabildo building, today the May Revolution Museum, One block away from Plaza de Mayo lies the business center or “City Porteña”, which is the home of all the banks and exchange houses.

• Florida Street: is the most important pedestrian and commercial street of the city of Buenos Aires. It joins a big quantity of shops and all the national and international brands. From leather clothing shops, souvenirs, electronics, music and sports among other ones, to also lots of restaurants and coffee shops. Another pedestrian and commercial street is Calle Lavalle, famous for lots of shops where you can buy good fake sports clothes. In the corner of Florida street and Córdoba avenue is the Galerías Pacífico shopping mall, one of the most beautiful in Buenos Aires.

• Avenida 9 de Julio (9 of July Ave.): is one of the other most important avenues in Buenos Aires and one of the most famous as it´s considered one of the widest in the world.

• El Obelisco (The Obelisk) Icon of the city of Buenos Aires. It stands 67mts tall, and serves as a meeting point for “porteños” to celebrate local sporting achievements. It´s located at the intersection of 9 de Julio Avenue and Corrientes Avenue.

• Avenida Corrientes (Corrientes Ave.) Known as the “Broadway” Avenue of Buenos Aires because the most important theatres of the city are situated on it, along with the most traditional “pizzerías”, such as Las Cuartetas, Banchero and Guerrín; and diverse bookshops where you can get popular releases for a very good price. On Corrientes Avenue, 20 blocks away from 9 de Julio Avenue, is the Abasto shopping mall, another heavily visited tourist attraction.

• San Telmo Neighbourhood: it is one of the most visited neighborhoods in Buenos Aires and it is also one of the oldest; it is said to be the cradle of tango. The main square is Plaza Dorrego (Defensa y Humberto Primo) surrounded by traditional bars and cafes. Every Sunday, the Feria de San Telmo takes place, consisting of antique markets and street performers. On Defensa Street one can find many antique shops and art expositions. In Balcarce street the most famous Tanguerías (tango shows and milongas) are concentrated.

• La Boca: this is the most colorful neighborhood in Buenos since it maintains the traditional houses built of multicolored metal and wood, a tradition that existed during the period of immigration. Caminito Street is an open-air museum which holds many artisans who exhibit and sell their works to visitors, as well as many musicians and tango dancers. There are also many other street performers and artists. Only metres away from Caminito lies the La Boca Fine Art Museum, which is among the most important museums in Buenos Aires. It sits in what was once the studio-home of the artist Benito Quinquela Martin. La Boca is also home to the stadium of the Boca Juniors Athletic Club (Football team), known as La Bombonera. It is situated four blocks from Caminito and is World-famous for being one of the best football teams in the world.

• Recoleta neighbourhood: It is one of the most prestigious districts of Buenos Aries. It is World-renowned for its cemetery, where the tomb of Evita Peron and other famous personalities from Argentina’s history can be found. Located next to the cemetery are, the beautiful church of Nuestra Señora del Pilar, The Recoleta Cultural Center, and Buenos Aires Design. The cultural center produces important cultural exhibits, while Buenos Aires Design is a center for design, decoration, and architecture. The National Museum of Fine Arts is only a few metres away, and on weekends there is an artists’ fair with some of the most well-known artisans of the city. Known as Feria de Recoleta, it takes place in the park surrounding the aforementioned buildings.
Avenida Alvear is known as the Fifth Avenue of Buenos Aires for its concentration of boutiques of famous international brands and for the highest class hotels in Buenos Aires.

Bosques de Palermo: is one of the nerve centers of the city which joins the zoo, the botanical gardens, the Japanese Garden, the planetarium and the garden of roses, the La Rural Exhibition Center, and the racetrack which there is also a casino.
Palermo Chico: is the most exclusive neighborhood of Buenos Aires, and is home to the Museum of Latin American Art or MALBA
Palermo SOHO: is situated around Plaza Serrano and Plaza Cortazar, It is home to the businesses of many independent fashion designers as well as many bars.
Palermo Hollywood: is famous for its large quantity of restaurants, resto-bars, and night clubs such as Club 69: one the most famous techno clubs in all of Buenos Aires.

• Puerto Madero: This area used to be the second port of Buenos Aires, but the old building-warehouses have been restored, and so it has become the newest district of the city. Today it is basically a high class gastronomical area, but you can also find lots of international companies offices, cinemas, Universidad Católica Argentina, the Frigate-Museum Sarmiento, the Woman Bridge and hotels and clubs of great category (Opera Bay, Asia of Cuba). Behind Puerto Madero is the Ecological Reserve, one of the “lungs” of the city, from where it is possible to be in direct contact with the Río de la Plata. It is ideal place to escape of the city life for a while.
